Claret Stat: Joe is a powerful striker, who has been with the Clarets since 2002. He progressed through the Burnley Centre of Excellence to be offered a full time contract by Eddie Howe in May 2011.
Joe made the bench on January 7th 2012, when Burnley played Norwich City in the FA Cup third round, Burnley lost 4-1 and Joe unfortunately never got on.A few days later, Joe moved on loan to his hometown club Barrow, he made his debut the following night against Fleetwood Town where he came of the bench to score his first professional goal, Alex-Ray Harvey also played in the match completing the full 90 minutes.
Eddie Howe recalled Joe from Barrow with the intention of giving the youngster first team experience, and after a couple of selections in the matchday sixteen, Joe finally made his professional debut in the penultimate game of the 2011/12 season away at Blackpool.
The start of the 2012/13 season Joe found himself back in his hometown of Barrow, where he joined with another of Burnley's first year professionals Tom Anderson.
On 4 April 2013, it was announced that he would not be offered a new contract when it expired in the summer.

"Making the three-hour round trip from Barrow-in-Furnesstwice a week for training at the Centre of Excellence and coming back for games on the Saturday showed his commitment. He became an apprentice and settled in really well and woked tremendously hard. He's come on leaps and bounds and led the line really well this season. He's a determined young man and was going to give it his best shot, and this year he has made improvments again. He's scored goals this season, but he has missed them as well, and thats an area he will look to to improve on. He gets himself in good positions because of his work rate and intelligence up the field and he now he has to push that on now. He's not a six foot player - probably about 5ft 10in - but he's got a built up upper body and he's very quick."
