When Steven Jordan signed from Premiership Manchester City, it had the whole of Turf Moor looking at the Premiership with excitement as well as expectation.

As Steve Cotterill's fourth signing in 2006/07 we looked to have competition for the left back berth ,a problem position with only John Harley on the books as a recognised left back.

Steven Jordan was a product of his boyhood heroes, Manchester City, as a Trainee at the now derelict Main Road stadium, his potential was there to be seen, he completed 5 seasons at the now City of Manchester Stadium club, making his debut as a 21year old against Bolton at the Reebok stadium, his only appearance that season, although his first start was not to come until the following year against Norwich City who had just won promotion from the championship.

He continued throughout his 5 seasons at Manchester as a bit part player ,49 league starts as a recognised first team player over the course of 4 full season's epitomises this .

His left back roll at Burnley has not gone to plan ,while Steve Cotterill played him constantly during some poor games( and when he seemed to be carrying an injury), leaving John Harley chomping at the bit in the reserves, it also had the Claret faithful questioning Steven Jordan's quality and Steve Cotterill's management.

Looking forward to the 2008/09 season ,with Jordan with two years left to run on his contract, we all hope he puts his first season behind him and makes a fresh start ,showing all the talent what Premiership Manchester City saw in him eight years ago.
