Clarets stats: Journeyman he may be, but established Chris Iwelumo most definatly is! Born in Scotland to a Scottish Mother and Nigerian Father, chris took the long road to stardom St Mirren in Scotland and Aarhus Fremad in Denmark was Chris' early clubs, but it was at Stoke City where Iwelumo started to make a real impression 15 League goals in 84 appearances between 1998 and 2000, before being loaned out to the lower leagues York, Cheltenham and Brighton making use of the six foot front man.

German side Almannia Aachen signed Chris in 2004 but with no goals in his nine substitute appearances Chris made the trip back to England with League one side Colchester United where he scored a goal every three games attracting the teams such as Charlton who in 2007 were still a Premiership side. Chris spent a season with the Addicks saw Chris score at a ratio of 1 in 4, before Wolves signed the fornt man.

Fifteem goals for Wolves in there promotion season of 2008/09 was not enough to keep Mick McCathy happy as in 2010 he was loaned out agaon this time to Black Country rivals Bristol City.

And in an undisclosed fee Burnley take not so much a gamble but a calculated risk on the Scottish international on his signing Clarets boss Brian Laws said: "I'm delighted to bring Chris Iwelumo to Burnley. I think he is going to be a fantastic addition.

"Chris is not a gamble, he is proven in the Championship and has been promoted four times.

"He has also averaged about 15 goals a season which tells you he can play.

"His link-up play and knowledge of the game are great and he will be fantastic for the dressing room.

"He's a winner and can give us something different."

'Big' Chris never really fitted in to Eddie Howes style of play and was offloaded to Watford before the start of the 2011/12 campaign, for an undisclosed fee, said to be in the region of £500.000.

Big Chris will go down as a player who never totaly won over the Clarets faithful, maybe its his style or maybe its because he is seen as a Brian Laws signing.

He does leave Burnley with some memorable moments, the hat-trick against Preston after we were 3-1 down will stick in the minds of us Clarets for a long time.
