Owen Coyle made his 4th signing in preparation for the new Premier League League season(2009/10). This time the target was Brian Easton a young left back from Hamilton Academical, Brian cost £350.000 and signed on a three year deal. The 6.0ft Hamilton full back was born in Glasgow on the 5th March 1988. He made his senior debut for the Accies against Queens Park in August 2006 at the age of 18. During the following seasons he showed so much promise that Hamilton gave him a new 3 year contract in May 2008. Brian made his debut for the Scotland U21's against Northern Ireland in November 2008 and followed that with an appearance for the Scotland B team in May 2009 once again against Northern Ireland. In total he has made 102 senior appearances for Hamilton scoring 2 goals. At Burnley he will wear the number 24 shirt. January 2010, new manager Brian Laws loaned Brian Easton back to his former club Hamilton Academicals for the rest of the season, Brian's road to teh first team was blocked by Danny Fox. Easton made his Burnley debut in October 2009 when he played in a League Cup game away at Hatlepool, a year later he made his first league start for Burnley on 19 October 2010 against Barnsley after stepping in for the injured Danny Fox. He scored his first goal for Burnley in a 3-2 defeat to Leeds United on 11 December 2010. Brian nickmnamed 'Clunk' on the longside messageboard, stepped up to the mark when left back Fox was sold to Southampton in August 2011. Brian made the left back slot his own after Fox's departure, but did'nt impress everyone, Eddie Howe dropped the left back towards the end of the season, and it seems with Eastons contract nearing the end, its the last time we will see Brian in a Burnley shirt. After three seasons at Burnley Brian made 33(5) appearances for the club scoring just the one goal against culd-be suiters Leddes United in that 3-2 defeat. Football is about opinions, and mine is that Brian is a competent left back. a defender in the truest sense of the word! After the news he is no longer seen as a first team player, Brian left Burnley and went on trial at Leeds United. where managerNeil Warnock will run his eye over the Scottish full-back .
