Again we think we can improve him as we did with Rodriguez, so hes another exciting player to be working with", praise indeed from Martin Dobson a Burnley legend. Wes has a unique talent of never panicking in front of goal, and has the ability to pass the ball into the goal, I believe Wes has a huge future in the game. Fletcher hit the net 39 times during the 2008/09 youth and reserve leagues.
Wes was in th He also won the Youth Player of the Year 2008/09. Wes was expected to start 2009/10 on loan at Scottish Club, Partick, but the deal seem to take an age, and Partick pulled out of the possible loan deal.. During Burnley's Premiership campaign Wes completed a loan spell to struggling League two side Grimsby Town, where ironically new manager Brian Laws cut his managerial teeth. Wes came on as sub and played the last thirty minutes against Cheltenham. The following game Wes came on with twenty minutes remaining and scored his first league goal in the 2-1 defeat at Rotherham. October 2010 Wes was loaned out to local rivals Stockport County, he made his debut against Hereford where County were well and truly beaten 0-5. November and on the last day of his loan deal, Wes scored the winner in a single goal victory against a Bury side who were flying high in the second division. The goal itself was one which would not be out of place in the Premiership, a long cross into the box saw Wes immediately control the ball before a cruyff turn saw him drill the ball into the bottom corner. Wes returned to Burnley after a change of manager at Stockport County, who were struggling at the bottom of League Two. With Eddie Howe installed as Burnley's new boss, a quickly arranged behind closed doors match was arranged against Preston North End who had a change of manager also. In that game Wes netted twice in front of the new manager. At the start of the 2011/12 Campaign Burnley's former prolific youth protege is of on loan again, this time for a six month spell at neighbours Accrington Stanley, where with a run of games, he can show the footballing world what a talent he is. A day after his loan deal to Accrington, Wes scored the winner in the 1-0 win over Bradford, where he stepped over the through ball totally wrong footing the defender and neatly slid the ball into the corner. The goal and his all round display saw Wes leave the Crown Ground with the man of the match award. Wes returned back early from his loan spell at Accrington, to be instantly loaned out again, this time to Crewe from a higher division, where Wes netted on his debut, he then returned in Jan 2012
