Claret Stat: : In 2009 Ben was offered a year long contract ,as he suffered a long term injury, Burnley have given him chance to recover before making a longer decision on the local born full back.

 Ben is the nephew of former Claret Ashley Hoskin, he has represented Lancashire county and turned out for the reserves before injury hammered his progress. Another player who joined the centre of excellence as a 9 year old . 

In May 2009/10  Ben was released by Brian Laws and Burnley, linking up with Padiham.

It was reported in February 2011, that Major League Soccer Club Colorado Rapids had offered Ben a trial, should his two week trial be successful Ben could be lining up against former England Captain David Beckham who plays in the US for LA Galaxy.
