Contract : After refusing the contract offer at Burnley, Jimmy signed a year deal with Sheffield Wednesday.

 

James O'Connor born in Dublin on the first of August 1979 ,a former Republic of Ireland U21 International. Signed by Steve Cotterill Initially on loan in October 2004, he became a full time Claret soon after in a move that cost Burnley £175-000 from the Baggies (WBA).

James O'Connor who was a fans favorite with his energy and commitment ,who popped up with few goals from time to time . He was of very slight build, a posture not normally found in a hard tackling midfielder, but this tenacious player who never gave anything but 100% will be hard to replace.

Jimmy started 111 games for the Clarets scoring on 8 occasions, and was a used substitute 5 times.

 

Sheffield Wednesday is O'Conner's next destination signing a 2 year deal June 2008, Burnley's first opponents in the 2008/09 campaign.
