The Clarets faithful were very confident in us picking up two points today, as we entertained Luton Town currently bottom of the league.

The confidence was not misplaced as Burnley ran out 3-0 winners. Although in the first few minutes of the game Luton looked the more dangerous, Burnley soon had them on the back foot.

Pointer opened the scoring after 16 minutes, but he had to leave the field shortly after having picked up an injury. Robson put us 2-0 in front after 32 minutes, and Burnley went in comfortably leaders at half time.

Pointer came back onto the field for the second half but was virtually a passenger for the rest of the game. McIlroy scored Burnley's 3rd with his usual style of cunning penalty.

At the final whistle the score was only 3-0 but it could so easily have been 10, 11, or 12 such was the Burnley dominance in this game.

Programme Review.

Just the one change to the teams printed in the programme, that was Meredith in for Connelly.

Harry Potts Calling

Not much of note written in today's programme, mention was made of the England v Scotland schoolboys game coming up next Wednesday.

Harry also took the time to highlight the Bob A Job week being carried out by the Burnley Boy Scouts, he has invited 24 of them to sweep the terraces on Monday morning.
