Eastwood started Chris Waddles ill fated 1997/98 campaign with the No9 shirt but lost it due to the signing of Andy Cooke, he only made 1 start and 2 substitute appearances under Waddle, it would be Stan Ternent who gave Phil the chance to impress starting him a further 8 times in 1998/99.
