Name: John Spicer D.O.B.13/9/83 Place of Birth: Previous clubs Arsenal, Bournemouth, Burnley , Doncaster Rovers Position: Midfielder Burnley Fee: 35.000 from Bournemouth Signed by Steve Cotterill Burnley Debut: 29th August 2005, Reading (A) Last Game for Burnley: Claret Stats: 36(38) Appearances, 5 Goals Claret Honours: None International Honours: None Released May 2008... signed for Doncaster Rovers on a two year deal on 17th June 2008 Claret Stat: John who was not offered a contract and released by manager Owen Coyle at the end of the 2007/08 season, Took no time in finding another championship club, when he put pen to paper on a two year deal at newly promoted Doncaster Rovers. Doncasters manager Saun O'Driscoll and his assistant Richard O'Kelly know Spicer from his days at Bournemouth. The former Arsenal player only started 36 games in his three years at Turf Moor ,was never really given a chance, getting played all over the park during his stay at Burnley,he even played in goal against Luton Town two years ago. Apart from his time between the posts he will be fondly remembered for his goal away at Birmingham City the same season. He was unlucky at his time at Burnley, hopefully this move will work out for the midfielder.
