Name: Philip Cavener D.O.B:2nd June 1961( South Shields) Clubs:Burnley, Bradford, Swedish League, Gillingham, Northampton, Peterborough, Kettering, Fee payed by Burnley:Apprentice Signed by Brian Miller Burnley Debut:3rd November 1979 Orient. Last appearance for Burnley:
Started out with a trial with Arsenal. "I remember that game at Notts County very well - just after Christmas 79 I recall, and one of the very few highlights in a desperate season. It was a freezing cold day and we were in yellow - Cav got 2 and ran straight to a small group of Burnley fans standing behind the goal on what used to be a big open terrace at Meadow Lane. I always swear he looked straight at me and punched the air, but my mate Dave was convinced it was him! Is there film somewhere of the (in)famous incident on the Turf when Cav went to take a corner but kicked the corner flag out instead? Could possibly have been that same Brentford game as mentioned above." Lambie the leap from the Longside message board. He went to Sweden, before playing for Gillingham and Northampton, playing at the Turf for Northampton in 1985,he also played for Peterborough and Kettering before he got injured in a car crash.
