Burnley Manager form Feb 1977 till Oct 1979

In July 1976 Potts was reunited with his beloved Burnley when he was appointed as chief scout with Joe Brown as Burnley's manager following the resignation of Jimmy Adamson.

Harry's position of chief scout was held until the following February, where with Burnley just above the relegation places in Division Two parted with manager Joe Brown.

Harry Potts almost 40 years to the day when he first walked through the Turf Moor door was hired by Bob Lord to managed his beloved Clarets again.

1977 and the with the conveyor belt of youth almost dried up, was left with a poor over aged side. Burnley were struggling.

Burnley did see success in the Anglo-Sottish Cup, this would be Harry Potts's  one last hurrah victory against Celtic and a cup triumph at Turf Moor.

Bad times were on the horizon the start of the 1979 season, with Burnley having the the worst start to a season ever! 11 games without a win in the second division, Potts went, he would be replaced by his former captain Brian Miller.

Potts who passed away in January 1996, will be remembered as a pioneer, a leader, a manager, a gentleman, a man of honour, a man of stature, a man of Burnley.

RIP, Harry Potts legend in ever sense of the word.
