Burnley Manager from Nov 2007 till Jan 2010

First game in charge. Stoke City home 2007.

Last game in charge. MK Dons FA Cup 3rd rnd January 2010

Owen Columba Coyle started his managerial career when he was named as the new manager of Falkirk in 2003 after 22 years of playing as a professional football as a striker, he managed 12 wins from 19 games at Falkirk.

His managerial brilliance caught the eye of fellow Scottish club St. Johnstone where he was appointed as manager in April, 2005.

He was awarded Manager of the Month for the Scottish First Division for his team's performance in April, 2006. A 2–0 victory over Rangers at Ibrox to reach the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup was achieved by Owen Coyle but they lost in the semi-final to Hibernian 3-1.

Coyle was awarded his second Scottish First Division Manager of the Month award of the 2006–07 season on 30 March 2007. On 21 November 2007, Burnley held talks with Owen Coyle over their manager vacancy, he was appointed as manager the following day.

2008-09 Owen Coyle was re-named "God" by many Clarets when he guided Burnley to the Premier League for the first time in Burnley's history.

Owen Coyle left Burnley in January 2010 leaving a very bad taste in the mouths of all Claret's, Bolton chairman Phil Gartside spoke with Owen just after the MK Dons game in the FA Cup, offering him riches Burnley wouldn't match, Owen a man who during his Claret reign told us on numorous occasions how money wasnt his god! Well Bolton came and showed him the money and of to Horwich he went.

If losing our manager wasn't bad enough in the January transfer window, he took Steve Davis, Phil Hughes, John Henry, Cliff Roberts and Assistant Sandy Stewart! The first team had NO coaches, so the youth team coach stepped into the void leaving the youth team to play thier biggest game of the season Manchester United in the FA youth cup with no Coach! Yes Owen left Burnley in the mire and with that the 'God' status he gained by doing the impossible getting Burnley into the Premiership, the halo slipped and he will never be forgiven by many of the Clarets Faithfull.
