Blackpool (A) L 4-0 Burnley Stats: 9(8) Appearances, 1 goal Burnley Honours: None International Honours: Northern Ireland International (1 'B' Cap, no goals: 12 U21 Caps 2 goals) Claret Stat: McQuoid came through the ranks at Bournemouth to make his senior debut in May 2007 against Doncaster Rovers, coming on as a substitute for Brett Pitman. He scored his first senior goal for Bournemouth during a 4–0 win over Port Vale almost three years to to the day of his debut in May 2010). In November 2010, he scored hat-tricks in consecutive games. The first came against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup, the second a week later in the league against bottom of the table Walsall. McQuoid signed for Millwall on loan on 25 November 2010, and completed his permanent move on 5 January 2011 for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £550,000, scoring his first goal for Millwall in a 4–0 demolition of Preston North End. The goal was subsequently voted by fans as Millwall's goal of the season for 2010–11. Josh became a Caret on 20th January 2012 on a three month loan deal, McQuoid had previously played under Burnley manager Eddie Howe at Bournemouth. making his debut against Derby County as a substitute in the goalless draw in January, he made his first Claret start away at the City Ground in Burnleys 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest om the last day of January. A current Northern Ireland Internaional, Josh has also represented the B side and the U21 side, before Rory Patterson gave Josh his debut against Morocco. Josh's loan deal ended a few days after the 4-0 defeat to local rivals Blackpool, after making 17 appearances for Burnley, manager Howe's parting words were "I think he's done well, He's filled in the various positions, which was the job we wanted him to do" but Howe continued "He probably could have scored more than the one goal he got, but i think he can be very pleased with his contribution". Most Burnley fans would love to see Josh sign permanently, as he quickly became a fans favorite with his unselfish link play, energy and workrate. |
