He had been playing youth and regular reserve team football for West Ham United before being signed on loan by Coventry City manager Chris Coleman, he was given first-team squad number 9 at Coventry making his first appearance in the 3–1 home defeat of Plymouth Argyle on 29 March 2008. Just a couple of days later on April Fools day (April 1sT)scored his first goal in his second game for Coventry City in a 1–1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday. On returning from the loan spell at Coventry, Hines made his first team debut for West Ham United against Macclesfield Town in a League Cup second round match, scoring a goal. Hines was to miss much of the 2008–09 season with a knee injury but West Ham stuck by him offering the forward a new contract in March 2009, keeping him at the club until summer 2010. After playing in pre-season for the 2009–10 season, Hines was in the matchday squad for several matches and had played against Liverpool in September, November the same year Hines scored if first league goal a 93rd minute winner in The Hammer's 2–1 victory over Aston Villa But like the season before Injury strucl in January 2010 Zavon injured his knee which required surgery. He returned to first-team football eleven months later and played his part in a 4–0 win in the League Cup against Manchester United. In February 2009, Zaron was called into the Jamaica squad for the friendly international against Nigeria, Hines was not called upon to play. Later the same year England came calling for the player who grew up in the East End of London, he did get on the pitch in this U21 international, scoring twice from the bench when he replaced Theo Walcott in the second half against Macedonia at The Rioch Arena, Coventry. Eddie Howe the Burnley manager has said to have been chasing the lightening quick forward since Feb, finally tied him up for Burnley in August 2011 on a two year deal. Making his Burnley debut off the bench against Cardiff City at Turf Moor .Zavon although still young enough to make an impact has'nt (as yet), but with a string of impressive performances in the reserves Eddie Howe has allowed the frontman to be loaned out to gain valuble first team experience. Bournemouth, Eddies former team were to benifit from Eddies decision when Zavon singed on loan till the end of the season.
