Claret Stat:  Ings signed an apprentice contract with Bournemouth in May 2008, making his professional debut on 6 October for Bournemouth in their 2–1 away defeat to Northampton Town in the Football League Trophy Southern Section Second Round when he came off the bench to replace Burnley's now assistant replacing Jason Tindall

2010/11 Danny had a successful loan spell with Dorchester Town, where he scored 7 goals in 13 appearances.

Ings made his Football League debut at Milton Keynes Dons on 28 December 2010, scoring his first Football League goal against Swindon Town on 1 February 2011.

August 15th 2011, Ings moved north to Burnley, to become Eddie Howes second permanent signing of the season, coming in as direct replacement for Chris Iwelumo who was sold to Watford.

Before Eddie Howe swooped Ings was being touted to teams such as big spending Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle, Eddie was quoted in the Burnley Express "Danny's an exciting talent, he's a very talented lad, he's still very young, he's just 19. He's had a rapid rise - he broke into the Bournemouth team last year when I was still manager and everyone felt for a long time that Danny's potentially one of the best to come through in recent times, and that says a lot with the quality that's come through at Bournemouth"

Days before Dannys availability for first team selection disaster struck, when he injured his knee in training such was the seriousness of the injury, it is expected to keep Danny out of action till early 2012.
