Claret Stat: Stewart who started life in football with Swindon Town where he was a youth player.

After signing for Weymouth in 2006, he made his first team bow at age 18 in the 2-1 defeat to Rushden & Diamonds. He left Weymouth for Premietr League side Portsmouth in 2008, he never made a first team apperance for Pompy.

In November 2010 Jon signed for Bournemouth,  Jon made just five appearances for the Southern side, before controversy struck, he was sacked by Bournemouth for misconduct, reportedly damaging hotel rooms and missing training.

Eddie Howe has taken a risk on returning for the goalkeeper who was saked a season earlier, but everyone deserves a second chance, and maybe Jon could make amends for his youthful exuberanvce and make inroads into the first team.

Jon signed a one year deal at Burnley where he will be third choice behine stalward Jensen and Lee Grant who will be battling out for the starting slot. After sitting on the bench for a four month spell covering Brian Jensons injury, Jon made the swich to Alfreton Town for the rest of the 2011/12 season.

Nicky Law, manager of Alfreton Town signed Jon to help with there fight with relegation, its the second time Jon Stewart has played in the Conferance after a loan spell at Weymouth in 2007/08.

Jon returned to Burnley to take his place on the bench as Brian Jenson took the place between the sticks for the last game of the season.

I wondered how Jon was doing so i went onto an alfreton Town forum, here are a few of the posts:

"Although we have a great keeper in Dan Lowson and probably a few were scratching their heads when Stewart was brought in, I dont think you will find many who will criticise Jon Stewarts performance at Alfreton so far, he's been solid! He has a great kick on him to.

Apparently made a world class save yesterday to help win the game.
Just wish we could keep him on next season to ": 7Blacknotes
"Jon seems to be enjoying his loan spell at Alfreton and the fans have really took to him and have christened him already. Am sure nicky would like to see him here next season preferably in the squad, we can only keep our fingers crossed. BEEEEEEEEEESSST.  ": Wrd8811
"a nice big goalkeeper has a presence about him and the defence seems very confident in him !!!!   ": dite
