Name: Keith Patrick Treacy D.O.B: 13th September 1988 Place of Birth: Dublin Position: Winger Clubs:Belvedere (Ireland), Blackburn Rovers, Stockport County (Loan), Sheffield United (Loan), Preston North End, Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday(Loan) Burnley Fee: Undisclosed (Rumoured to be £1 mil) Signed by Eddie Howe Contract: 3 year deal signed 1st August 2011. Burnley Debut: 6th August 2011, Watford (H) D 2-2 (Substitute, Scored) International Honours: Republic of Ireland International 4 U21 Caps and Current Full International. Claret Honours: None. Squad Number for the 2010/11 season: 26 Claret Stat: Eddie Howe finally got his man at the third time of asking, after two initial bids were turned down by Preston North End a third bid rumoured to be one million pounds was accepted by the Preston chairman. Keith started out at Irish club Belverdere before sining youth terms at Blackburn at thier Academy, signing pro terms in 2005.
After being farmed out to Stockport County and Sheffield United he signed for Preston quickly becoming a crowd favorite at Deepdale. Giovanni Trappatoni gave Treacy his first taste of International football after he selected him for the squad against Argentina, Keith made his Full Internional debut in the game when he came on as substitute. Kieth had previously played for the Republic off Ireland U21s. Last season saw Keith and his Preston side relegated to League Two, but Keith managed 7 goals from his wide position including a stunning strike at Turf Moor in Burnleys remarkable come back beating Kieths then side 4-3. During that season 2010/11 Keith was again selected by Trappatoni, this time against Northern Ireland where Treacy was selected in the first eleven. Howe has handed Treacy the squad number 26 for the current campaign, and in his first game he made a man of the match preformance when he stepped off the bench with just over 20 minutes to go scoring the equalising goal in two all draw with Watford(above) .Unfortunatly that was as good as it got in Treacys early Burnley career, a player who has been placed under the 'Alan Mahon' category! all the talent to be a match winner but never seems to bring his 'A' game to the table, I amonst other Burnley fans would love to see more of what he is capable of, but it may never be as Kieth was loaned out for the rest of the 2011/12 season to League one promotion chasers Sheffield Wednesday.
