Claret Stat: Tony Woodworth was told four days before his debut that he was starting, must have been a fantastic feeling to be making you football league debut, But it just took 90 minutes for all his dreams to become his worst nightmare!

Burnley hit rock bottom on 24th January 1987, the 6-0 home defeat by Hereford was by far one of the lowest moments in Burnley long history. Anthony Woodworth was making his debut that day, and will go down as one of the worst debuts in Burnley's history, picking the ball out of the net six times.

Tony never played again for Burnley and that one league appearance was his last, he went on to sign for Scunthorpe United, but that didn't work out for the young keeper, who even tried his luck in Australia, before dropping out of league football all together playing for non-league Morecambe, Nelson, Darwen and last of all Burnley United, later joining the police force.
