Adam never made a first team appearance for Burnley

Adam Kay, another youngster who has made the transition from youth team to First team, following in the footsteps of former youth team mate Jay Rodriguez.

 

Burnley born and bread Adam is of the “Roy Keane” breed of midfielder hard competitive and a leader. Watching him in the youth games he plays hard, he encourages, he is a box to box energetic player who others will follow.

 

A former pupil of St Theodore’s where he played for the Lancashire schools FA team, and who is a product of Burnley Football Clubs Centre of Excellence who he joined from local team Borrowdale United.  

 

Adam Kay has yet to make an appearance in the Burnley first team, but was handed squad no 25 and has been named on the bench towards the end of the season.

 

March 2009, Adam took a chance for first team action, when he signed on loan with Accrington Stanley, as yet (14th April) he has yet to start a League match, but with Stanley now safe from the drop hopefully Adam will be able to show what he can do.

 

1st June Adam was offered an extension to his current deal, he has yet to play a competitive league game yet, but is held in high regard by the Burnley boss.

 

21st August 2009,  it was announced Kay and first year professional Chris Lynch have joined Chester City in the Blue Square Conference until January 1st 2010.

 

Adam was released by Burnley at the end of the 2009/10 season without making a competitive first team appearance.
