What do you do with a problem like Steve Jones?

With lightening pace Steve Jones should be a threat for all defences ,but  the former non-league striker has never really hit the heights ,loaned out in Owen Coyles first season, his Burnley days seemed numbered .

His two goals on his league debut was his Burnley Football Club peak, both fantastically taken  in the first home game in 2006 against QPR, but even though this speedster of a front man took part in 41 league games (starting 37) in his first season he only managed 3 more goals .

The following season 2007/08 he had been plagued with injury starting only one league game and two in the league cup ,he did come of the bench on 16 occasions and did notch on one occasion for Burnley.

Owen Coyle loaned Jones back to his former club Crewe where he wasn't as successful as he was when we poached him on a free back in 2006 ,only two starts with two coming from the bench although he did score one goal as Crewe survived relegation from League one.

Steve Jones returned to Burnley from Crewe for the start of the 2008/09 season , a season where he will have to do a lot more to grace the first team, reserve team football looking like his foreseeable future for the Irish International.

But this is football ! the preseason might See a resurgence in Steve Jones who can win any match with his directness and speed, Hopefully in his last season at Turf Moor we see what Steve Cotterill saw in him and we might have a match winner waiting in the wings.

Steve did not feature at all in 2008/09 for Burnley and was loaned out to Huddersfield and Bradford City, where he has been a first team player for the Bantams, on there 2nd division title challenge.

On the 1st of June 2009 Steve Jones was released by Owen Coyle.
