D.O.B: 5th May 1980 Previous Clubs: Wolves(loan), Aston Villa(loan), Leicester City, Real Betis, RKC Waalwijk, AZ Alkmaar, Gent, Burnley, Huddersfield Town Position: Midfielder Clarets Debut: 23rd January 2007, Stoke City (h) Lost 0-1 Last Game for Burnley: Claret Honours: Play off winner 2009/10 International Honours: 34 full caps, 7 goals Claret stats: 47(51) Appearances, 7 Goals Icelandic International Joey Gudjonsson, Signed by Steve Cotterill from AZ Alkmaar for £150k in January 2007. Joey hit the headlines when with Leicester City as the the scorer of fantastic goals, in his last year at The Walkers Stadium, Joey swept the boards winning Player of the Season ,Players Player of the Season and Goal of the Season, for his strike from way out side the penalty area in the 3-2 win over Hull City. In the pre-season game away at Wrexham he scored a goal that had the Clarets fans thinking that we had a real goalscoring midfielder ,when he 'passed' the ball into the net from 20 yards out, he also scored away at Watford a classy bit of finishing after a lung busting run. His Burnley career to date has been a bit of a mystery, two red cards in 23 starts with a further 23 games coming off the bench. He has got talent, he has got a sublime left foot, he can score fantastic goals, he is just lacking consistency.
He ha After Owen Coyle left for pastures new, Joey seemed not to fit into the plans of new boss Laws, so much that in April 2010 Joey Gudjonsson made remarks in a newspaper questioning Burnley's manager, Burnley then suspended Joey for two weeks. Laws went one further and publicly said that Joey Gudjonsson would not be at the club next year! And true to his word, Joey and Burnley parted company by mutual content a week before the end of the 2009/10 season. Joey wasted no time in finding another club, Huddersfield Town were on hand to offer Joey a new deal, and ealy signs are they has snapped up a bargain scoring a thirty yard wonder goal in their pre-season win against Blackburn Rovers.

Name : Joey Gudjonsson
s all the attributes to be a force in the midfield for Burnley ,Hopefully with a full preseason under his belt and under new manager Owen Coyle’s initiative to play football with the ball on the ground, we might have a player worth his weight in gold.
