The end of the Longside !

The end for Jimmy Mullen !

The sale of Steve Davis !

3:33 Protest !

Clive Middlemass as Caretaker !

Stange times at the Turf ..

This season was like standing on suicide bridge, Hoping it would all work out for the best. The third tier of English football is where Burnley had found their level, relegation the season previous and a extremely poor 17th place finish this year.

Jimmy Mullen had taken Burnley up twice and down once, when he left, days after the 3:33 protest "Backs to the Board" Burnley were sat in 11th Place, after having lost 4 games on the bounce without scoring a single goal, the game against Crewe was a game too far for the Burnley faithful, although not totally directed at the manager, but at the board and the players, this was a dark day in Burnley's history. Jimmy left us in a better position, than when he came.

Clive Middlemass took control as caretaker, and then Adrian Heath as full time manager, but the season didn't lift! only 4 wins in the remaining 19 games, and 2 wins in the last 3 saved Burnley from relegation.

Some Clown even tried to set fire to Jimmy Mullen's wife's coat before he called it a day, things with Jimmy were never that bad, he is a Claret hero and always will be.

The longside got pulled down , as did the Bee hole end, a new chapter in Burnley's famous history was about to begin.
